Flying Fish Bowl By Shay Alkalay

Today's beautiful object is the result of a graduate project from the Royal College of Art.

Shay Alkalay designed this marvelous rotating fishbowl that houses several little fish in a doughnut shape about a third full of water.

The scenery in the bowl is made up of small buildings that are inspired by industrial structure; as the bowl turns, the buildings blow bubbles and aerate the water.

The aquarium slowly revolves and takes about 6 minutes to make a full turn.

But how do the fish get inside, you ask. There's a small hole in the center that provides access to the fish for feeding and cleaning purposes.

The Flying Fish Bowl is a limited production made in small batches, and each costs around £2000.
